Filter May Crack with Over-tight Fitting

Use Hands

The ALK1 inline filter (ALK1-2512-I) has a clear housing, which is fragile. It also has FNPT threads at both ports. Tighten fitting by hand and then use a tool to engage fitting an additional 1 1⁄2 turns. Do NOT attempt to force the male connector fitting in the port; do NOT over-tighten fitting as this may cause the filter to crack or damage the threads! It is only necessary to tighten fittings enough to prevent leakage. Use care when using Teflon tape as friction is reduced considerably; If leaks occur, remove connector, clean off old Teflon tape, re- wrap with one to two additional layers of Teflon tape, and re-install connector.
